After suffering a heavy fall on board Charlie Yardbird at Navan last Saturday, and severely bruising his knee, Iris jockey Paul Carberry has decided to sit out of action so to be fresh for the Festival next week, where he is likely to assume his regular partnership with Champion Hurdle contender Harchibald (33/1 Stan James)
Commenting on his injury, Carberry told Cheltenham Racing that he 'feels fine at the moment', but 'will wait for Cheltenham next Tuesday just to be on the safe side'.
Carberry's main employer Noel Meade plans to saddle up three for the Champion Hurdle next week, his team also includes Muirhead (40/1 Ladbrokes) and the promising Jered (25/1 Ladbrokes), one of which he confirmed will be ridden by Davy Condon.
