Henry De Bromhead is confident that Sizing Europe can confirm superiority over Captain Cee Bee ahead of their clash in the Arkle at Cheltenham in March.
Sizing Europe beat Captain Cee Bee when they last met in December at Leopardstown, when the latter fell at the final fence. Many that day thought that Edward O’Grady’s charge would have won and he has since confirmed that with a good performance at Naas.
Captain Cee Bee is currently the 7-2 (Stan James) favourite for the Irish Independent Arkle Chase with Sizing Europe next in the betting at 13-2 with William Hill. However, De Bromhead is relishing the prospect of facing the favourite and reports that Sizing Europe is in great form ahead of the festival.
"I'm very happy with him. We don't think we're too far off Captain Cee Bee and we beat him at Christmas so, in that sense, we're better.
"All I know is he's a very good horse, who is four from four over fences, an Irish champion hurdler and a course-and-distance winner over hurdles at Cheltenham.
"We'll turn up on the day and see how he gets on. It's a competitive race and certainly not a two-horse race. He's the best horse I've had anything to do with, I'm very lucky to have him and am looking forward to him running” added De Bromhead
