The race that follows immediately after the Gold Cup, the 'Foxhunters Chase' is run over the same course and distance as the Gold Cup event and in its own right is a solid betting heat in which the British and Irish punters clash head on in support of their favourite hunters.
The Foxhunters Chase has a mixed betting record - two Foxhunters Chase favourites in the last five years having won, whilst the other three winners during the same period have averaged odds of 18/1.
Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has triumphed in two of the last four renewals.
It is also worth noting any significant moves in the ante-post odds market as this race is often the long-range target of attempted betting coups on both sides of the Irish Sea
