War Has Good Value

Chris Kisby - 6 Mar 2009

Mouse Morris claims that his War of Attrition is 'good value' at 40/1 (Hills) to retain the Cheltenham Gold Cup, which he won in 2006.

The withdrawal of Notre Pere has meant that the former winner is now Ireland's best chance of winning the Festivals showpiece next Friday. Since returning from a long lay-off, War has been placed in two Grade One races and has shown squeaks of the talent that gained him his success three years ago.

Morris said: He is a big price but I think he is good value, and he certainly does not know what price he is anyway.'

There are certainly strong indications from the Morris camp that War of Attrition has enjoyed a smooth build up to the Festival, and that he could shock and surprise a few people after largely becomming the forgotten horse in the field.
