The 2006 Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition continued along the comeback trail with an easy victory in the Thurles Chase this afternoon. The 2-7 favourite never looked in any danger and eventually ran out an easy 8 length winner of the Thurles contest. William Hill’s reaction was to leave Mouse Morris’ charge unchanged at 25-1 for the Gold Cup in March.
William Hill’s Irish spokesman Tony Kenny commented “It’s probably too early to say that War Of Attrition is back to his best, but it was a pleasing display by the former Gold Cup winner” He continued “The John Durkan will be a much bigger test for Mouse Morris’ charge and after that race we should know a lot more about his Gold Cup credentials”
