Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase betting advice

James Cameron - 20 Feb 2008
The opening race on day three of the four-day Cheltenham Festival, the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase is run over two-miles-five-furlongs.  The Jewson Novices Chase is a tough betting event but can offer good odds of return if you can find the winner.

Results so far have been mixed for punters, with the three previous winners of the Jewson Novices Handicap so far returning at 14/1, 9/2f and 20/1. Reveillez landed some massive bets when taking the 2006 renewal under Tony McCoy.

When you are considering the form for the Jewson Novices Handicap you should look towards a proven ability to jump well as the Cheltenham racecourse fences will catch out any with flaws in their hurdling technique.

You should concentrate your bets on runners that that can last the three miles, as the testing uphill finish on the Cheltenham course favours those that can last the distance.
