Lough Derg cut after game Fontwell success

James Cameron - 24 Feb 2008

Lough Derg has been trimmed into 12/1 (from 20/1) for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle by Blue Square after collaring My Way de Solzen at the death in the totesport.com National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell on Sunday.

My Way de Solzen and Elusive Dream looked set to fight out the finish turning for home at the Sussex track but Lough Derg stayed on resolutely to win by two lengths.

Tikram was also cut to 16/1 from 20/1 for the Racing Post Plate at the Cheltenham Festival after winning the handicap chase at Fontwell, whilst Oscar Park took the novice chase in style and is now 14/1 (from 20/1) for the Royal & Sun Alliance Chase. Galient’s win in the novice hurdle saw him earn a 33/1 quote with Blue Square for the Ballymore Properties Novices’ Hurdle.

At Naas, Thyne Again’s victory in the Woodlands Park 100 Nas Na Riogh Novice Chase saw his odds for the Arkle cut to 12/1 (from 20/1) after odds-on favourite J’Y Vole disappointed.
