5.15 Centenary Novices’ Handicap Chase Tip

James Cameron - 14 Mar 2011
The final race on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival looks another fiercely competitive affair and if punters can pick the winner they should surely be heading into day two of the meeting in profit.

Tullamore Dew hasn’t been overly punished by the handicapper and doesn’t have to give too much weight away bearing in mind that he finished second in last year’s Coral Cup while As De Fer has plenty of ability.

Quantitativeeasing was a very useful hurdler and has won his last two races over fences and is one to consider, but the shrewd money could be on Paul Nicholls’ Definity who has always been highly regarded by his legendary trainer.

Remarkably lightly raced for an eight-year-old, the selection has jumped well on his last two starts over fences and he looks like he could still be the real deal.

A victory in a maiden at Fontwell came before he finished second to Bakbenscher at Exeter and he is of great interest taking his chance in handicap company.

Selection – Definity 8/1 (Paddy Power)
