William Hill Handicap Chase Betting Advice

James Cameron - 3 Mar 2008

I earmarked An Accordion as a fancy for this straight after he won a valuable handicap chase at Doncaster and I like the fact they are missing the Racing Post Chase purposely for this citing they wanted him totally fresh for the Festival.

I suspect Royal County Star (one of a few Tony Martin handicappers with great chances at this season’s Festival) will assume the mantle of favouritism if he is confirmed a runner here which seems likely given they won the race with a similar type in Dun Doire two years ago.  Royal County Star was given his final prep race in a two-mile novice hurdle at the weekend which should have teed him up perfectly.

Afistfullofdollars come could here after winning the Grade 2 Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse at the weekend on his first try at this kind of trip and underlining the fact the Meade horses are back. That was only his fourth start over fences which is good in one aspect as clearly there is more potential for improvement but bad in another as this is a tough race and lightly-raced horses usually struggle.
