Mark Bradstock has given Carruthers the green light to line up in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham on Wednesday week. The six-year-old has won two of his three starts over fences and turned in a hugely impressive display when landing the Grade Two Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot last month in testing conditions.Bradstock was unsure whether to run his stable star at the Festival in the immediate aftermath of that emphatic victory, but is now happy to let him take his chance."At the moment, he is going to Cheltenham and he came out of the Ascot race in really good form - although he obviously didn't have a very hard race that day," said Oxon-based Bradstock."He won on reasonably good ground at Fakenham a couple of starts ago and when he was second in his bumper, it was almost good to firm so he handles most ground. Obviously What A Friend and Cooldine look the two main dangers."Carruthers disappointed when sent off favourite for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Festival 12 months ago, but this is not something which is worrying his trainer too much."Everybody is making a big furore about the fact that he ran disappointingly at Cheltenham last year and people are saying he can't run well there," Bradstock continued."That is pretty much the only disappointing run of his career and he was only a five-year-old and had had five runs before that."He has purposely had an easier campaign this year and he is in very good form at home."It is Cheltenham and is going to be competitive but we just hope our horse can produce his best on the day, that's the idea."
